Type Rating Flight Description

Type Rating Flight and evaluation:

Will be considered FAILED if occurs:
- ONE or more SERIOUS operational mistakes
- A total of FIVE operational mistakes during que flight
- TWO operational mistakes during each phase of the flight

A serious mistake in the operation and/or in the navigation is considered if it compromises the flight safety.
Examples:
- Entry or execution of an holding in the wrong way
- Wrong execution of an approach procedure
- Error on the landing configuration, eg. gear up

Tolerances:
- Altitude: +/- 200FT
- Airspeed: +/- 15KTS
- Headings: +/- 10
- Instrument Flight:
  a) Non-precision instrument approach: +/- 10 on the lateral guidance
  b) Precision instrument approach: +/- 2.5 of lateral and vertical guidance (2.5 represents half of the scale)
  c) Route, VOR supported: +/- 5 of the selected radial
  d) Route, NDB supported: +/- 10 of the selected QDM/QDR

Objectives:
It is obvious that it is impossible to fullfill all objectives.
Each fleet will select those which are appliable (online, weather, etc)

  - Takeoff configuration.
  - En route configuration.
  - Landing configuration.
3. With a powerplant inoperative

F. DESCENT
1. Normal
2 Maximum rate
3. Area arrival (STARS)

G. APPROACHES
1. VFR procedures
  a. Normal
  b. With flap malfunction
2. IFR precision approaches
  a. ILS/normal
  b. ILS/one engine inoperative
3. IFR nonprecision approaches
  a. NDB/normal
  b. VOR/normal
  c. Nonprecision approach one engine inoperative
